PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: To actively contribute to the company vision of putting the world on vacation. To take responsibility for public-facing editorial content for external media and publications, organise familiarisations and prepare executives for interviews. To take responsibility for content for internally produced publications and copywriting for marketing collateral, to help drive various company KPIs in the South Pacific and Asia. The Senior Public Relations and Communications Officer will assist in writing content that best reflects the company and its vacation clubs – Club Wyndham South Pacific, Club Wyndham Asia, Accor Vacation Club and Accor Vacation Club Asia Pacific, along with managed hotels and resorts across the South Pacific and Asia.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing and distributing media releases
  • Arranging and hosting media famils
  • Providing hotels/resorts with press kits
  • Supporting managed resorts with promotions/deals by way of media coverage
  • Monitoring and reviewing the success of public relations initiatives to ensure successful outcomes
  • Generating PR to build brand awareness across the South Pacific and Asia region
  • Organising media interviews for key leadership eg. President and Managing Director, and executive team members
  • Producing speech notes for conferences and resort openings
  • Copywriting, editing and proofreading of corporate material, including direct mail, web, print, radio and video
  • Assisting in preparing internal and external communications
  • Developing and creating engaging social media content for both customer and public facing social media platforms
  • Managing the day-to-day handling of social media channels such as LinkedIn
  • Assisting in producing collateral for South Pacific and Asia resorts
  • Producing award nominations
  • Assisting with website content maintenance, preparing scripts for customer servicing staff
  • Following workplace health and safety guidelines
  • Displaying innovation through inspiring, creating and improving processes and products
  • Displaying leadership values by ensuring effective communication and respecting your peers and managers

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, creative writing or communications with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Possess an extensive media contact/distribution list for Asia
  • Have existing working relationships with a range of media in Asia
  • Preferably have a working relationship with airlines (for familiarisations)
  • Experience in a similar role in preparing copy for publications, marketing and advertising collateral
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude combined with customer service outlook
  • Good problem solver and loyal team player
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy
  • Medium-level computer skills in Adobe suite (e.g. Acrobat, InDesign) and high-level skills in Microsoft Office suite
