You will support Substation and Transmission projects with focus on electrical protection and control activities for Company and its Customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team. This includes new substations and switchyards, modifications, additions and upgrades to existing facilities.
Job Responsibility:
Technical execution of complex protection and control project assignments applied to both brownfield and greenfield for Power Networks projects for various clients
Preparation of engineering drawings and documents, calculations, and other miscellaneous deliverables as required
Collaborate with project managers, drafters, civil/structural engineers, and field personnel
Mentor and guide junior engineers
Complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards, on schedule and within budget
Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with other project personnel and outside customers
Perform independent audits and reviews of technical work
Perform proposal preparation, proposal estimates, and provide input to scope documents and client presentations
Perform the function of a team leader that can solve complex issues and act as a lead engineer responsible for the quality of the deliverables
Work in a team-oriented environment with ability to work independently or as part of a group when and as required
Interface with outside customers
Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown
Responsible for the quality assurance of the documents to the applicable drawing standards and responsible for the proper document management procedures are followed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 8 or more years of protection and controls experience
Extensive experience in protection and control engineering for 69kV and above switchyards and substations
Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content
Design and implement advanced protection and control schemes for power systems
Has a competent understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices
Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
Self-motivated, organized, and be able to work independently
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is preferred
