Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Property Underwriter for Italy and Southern Europe Region based in Milan. As part of a dedicated team, you will work closely with clients and brokers to underwrite profitable new and renewal business, steering portfolios and strategies within an international framework. Responsibilities include developing and managing relationships, executing business strategies, and collaborating within the global property underwriting community.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and execute the Property Line of Business (LoB) local strategy and proactively support the development of the global LoB strategy
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
Ownership of large accounts / clients and ultimate responsibility for accounts
Manage and steer the local portfolio, creating pipelines, discussing plans, and conducting portfolio analyses
Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, including client and broker negotiations where necessary
Coordinate with local Distribution to drive successful execution of strategic plans
Communicate local LoB strategy externally in Italy together with Market Contacts and Distribution
Positively represent AGCS internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market
Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g., Distribution, ARC, Claims, Operations

Requirements:

You have completed an appropriate level of education
You ideally have 7+ years or more relevant experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the insurance sector
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skills
You are able to work in an international matrix organization
You have the ability to assess risks, coverages, terms and conditions of a (potential) insurance placement and can translate this into an insurance offer
You are a true team player and well established within the market. You have relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level
