Requirements

Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling residential possession claims, ideally representing landlords
In-depth knowledge of the legal and procedural framework around recovering possession of residential property
Experience with defended actions, disrepair claims, or housing litigation is beneficial but not essential
Law Degree, LPC or working towards CILEX qualification is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality correspondence and legal documents
A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibility

Acting for private landlords and insurer clients in possession proceedings under assured shorthold tenancies (ASTs), assured tenancies, Rent Act tenancies, and common law tenancies
Advising clients on the correct legal procedures for recovering possession and ensuring compliance with pre-action protocols
Drafting and issuing court proceedings and managing cases through to eviction
Handling a high-volume caseload, prioritising urgent matters, and delivering effective solutions in tight timescales
Liaising with clients, court staff, and third parties in a professional and timely manner
Opportunity to assist with defended claims, including disrepair and unlawful eviction counterclaims, depending on experience
