Job Description:

Lawes is looking for a Senior P&C Underwriter for a dynamic, high-growth insurance business in Glasgow. This role focuses on underwriting SME and mid-market risks while developing strong broker relationships and contributing to team success.

Job Responsibility:

Underwrite new and renewal P&C business
Build and grow broker relationships across the region
Meet financial targets and support retention and growth
Represent the business in the local market
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service excellence
Handle complex and mid-market underwriting cases
Meet with brokers and clients regularly
Use data to support pricing and decision-making
Track pipeline and progress toward team goals
Share insight and support a high-performing team culture

Requirements:

Strong experience in commercial property & casualty underwriting
Confident managing complex or high-value risks
Skilled in broker relationship management
Solid track record in SME/mid-market portfolios
ACII qualified or working towards preferred
Strong technical and trading skills
Excellent communicator and negotiator
Confident using analytics and underwriting
