Job Responsibility:

  • Leading the development and delivery of asset management and property plans aligned to WMCA priorities
  • Shaping WMCA's Corporate Land and Property Strategy and embedding a consistent Corporate Landlord approach
  • Providing strategic property advice to senior leaders, elected members, and directorates
  • Driving asset reviews to identify underused or surplus assets and unlock opportunities for regeneration and better use
  • Supporting the development of business cases and programmes where property is a key enabler
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex, place-based asset initiatives
  • Working across WMCA and with partners to deliver a joined-up 'Our Estate' approach to public assets

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale housing, regeneration, or strategic asset programmes
  • Strong background in strategic property and asset management
  • Proven track record of delivering complex property projects and programmes
  • Experience operating at a senior level within local government or a comparable environment
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, including elected members and regional partners
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and cross-organisational delivery
  • Strong understanding of asset performance, lifecycle costing, and portfolio optimisation
  • Knowledge of public sector governance, procurement, and financial frameworks
  • Awareness of sustainability and net zero in property and asset management
  • Strong programme and change management capability
