Job Description

The Senior Property Accountant will oversee property‑level and corporate accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, internal controls, and process improvements. The role requires strong commercial real estate experience, excellent accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage accounting operations for multiple commercial properties and corporate entities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Lead month‑end and year‑end close
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to leadership
  • Maintain GL activity, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Oversee AP, AR, tenant billing, and cash processes
  • Review CAM reconciliations and lease abstracts
  • Coordinate annual budgets and forecasts
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital expenditures
  • Support audits, tax filings, and work with external CPAs
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls and procedures
  • Enhance accounting systems and workflows
  • Lead system upgrades or implementations
  • Identify automation opportunities to increase efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in commercial real estate
  • Strong GAAP and property management accounting knowledge
  • Experience with Property Blvd, Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar software
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
