Reporting to the Accounting Manager/Property Controller, the Senior Property Accountant will manage property-level accounting activities, support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, and provide information for audits, tax filings, and investor reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze project-level cash flows and review accounting entries for accuracy
Monitor expenditures and ensure proper coding in accounting systems
Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Prepare and record month-end journal entries and facilitate close processes
Calculate fees due to the firm and third parties
Process debt service payments and assist with construction draw requests
Support quarterly financial reporting and investor packages
Assist with audits and tax filings, providing workpapers and responses to inquiries
Collaborate on acquisitions, dispositions, and ad hoc accounting projects
Communicate with JV partners and review legal agreements as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3–5 years of relevant experience (real estate, private equity, construction, or development preferred)
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Experience with accounting systems (MRI, Nexus) and strong Excel skills (V-lookups, pivot tables)
Knowledge of GAAP and partnership/fund accounting
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and proactive
