Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with Real Estate expertise! Robert Half has partnered with a successful client within the property management industry on their search for a Senior Property Accountant.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
  • Handle payroll funding and related journal entries to ensure accurate reporting
  • Create and analyze financial statements, providing insights into financial performance
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Collaborate on the annual budgeting process and assist in forecasting activities
  • Manage cash flow projections and oversee cash management responsibilities
  • Develop schedules and analyses in preparation for year-end financial audits and tax filings
  • Work closely with property management and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
  • Utilize accounting systems such as Yardi to maintain financial integrity and reporting standards
  • Establish priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively
  • Manage all accounting transactions
  • Assist with journal entry preparation
  • Analyze leasing costs
  • Review market lease reconciliations
  • Perform accounting analysis
  • Review and approve vendor invoices
  • Assist with the year-end financial audit process
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review and maintain property budget
  • Assist with annual entity tax returns

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in property accounting or a related field
  • Proficient in Yardi software and other accounting systems
  • Experience in public accounting and audit practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience with real estate accounting software
  • Advanced financial analysis skills
