Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who will serve as a senior manager and owner of customer account(s), providing a single point of contact to manage the life cycle of customer escalations, opportunities, and delivery. Control the overall design and operational delivery of project(s), considering the safety, technical, commercial, and managerial requirements, from bid and pre-commencement through to successful practical completion and ensuring that profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership, high-quality customer relations and management of relevant support functions allocated to the project.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrate strong Health and Safety leadership and compliance
  • Senior representative managing a key customer account
  • Establish a team structure to provide the customer service needed to maximise account growth and profitable performance
  • Senior Management responsibilities associated with Human Resources (HR) processes and people management
  • Deliver projects in line with ISO and business processes
  • Own or participate in bid activities that support sales, the proposal team, and processes
  • To ensure that professional, profitable, and successful bids are delivered, meeting customer expectations
  • Manage pre-commencement activities in line with the business project delivery process
  • Supply chain engagement, maintaining relations and understanding escalation structure and processes to overcome barriers to resolve disputes or issues
  • Proactively engage with the commercial team, ensuring Sub-contractor contracts and performance are implemented
  • Responsible for proactively engaging with the commercial team to identify and manage project risks, opportunities and CVR reports
  • Lead the team to effectively manage the appointed specialist Sub-Contractors and ensure the work is being carried out safely, to the specification and programme
  • Provide leadership for the project management delivery team within the area of control, through clear provision of objectives, responsibilities, and accountabilities
  • Provision of Customer Progress Reporting in a timely and regular manner
  • Accountable for the provision of internal business reports and contract reviews to the senior management team
  • Proactively engaged with the Commercial team, ensuring contractual matters are represented to meet the constraints under contract
  • Develop/maintain positive long-term relationships with customers by understanding their requirements and ensuring that project objectives are defined
  • Lead project team to the safe and successful completion of the project/area under control within agreed timescales, agreed budgets and to meet specification and customer requirements
  • Manages and supports effective use of company email in terms of structure, format, storage, and retrieval
  • Represent the business and attend events to promote the well-being of the business and engage with customers
  • Initiates contact with customers to assess future needs, provide recommendations to the business to adapt services and systems accordingly
  • Operates as a subject matter expert in relevant areas of expertise and/or sectors DPI operates within
  • Prepares for and carries out employee performance reviews with direct reports following the company process
  • Maintains/develops skills and team performance to deliver required outcomes
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Studies or a related field (preferred)
  • Leadership and people management
  • Sector and industry knowledge within the Data Centre and associated services environment, especially in connectivity, white space, grey space and connectivity bias
  • Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations with demonstrable experience implementing policies and procedures, ideally certified in this field
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business financial principles, including profit and loss and costings
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of a data centre commissioning process with relevant Scripts, from L1 to L6
  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain excellent client/customer relations
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects in international settings
  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure, managing and driving schedules
  • IT skills, Excel and PowerPoint presentation
  • Contributes to the development of the DPI strategy and systems
  • To have completed the relevant levels of qualification that are relevant to the sector and industry
  • CSCPM Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites certificate
  • Must have the necessary accreditation and certifications relevant to the level of this role, e.g. APM, Prince 2, PMP, CITPM
  • You must maintain and attend to the necessary qualifications
