Join The Nelson Trust as a Senior Project Worker for Pause and become a driving force in breaking the cycle of children being removed from their families. Pause works intensively with women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeated pregnancies that result in children being taken into care. Through tailored support, we help women reflect, tackle destructive patterns, and develop new skills—preventing the heartbreak of family separation and building stronger communities.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and coach a team of keyworkers to achieve positive outcomes for women
Supervise staff and ensure high-quality, data-driven service delivery
Oversee contract requirements, reporting, and budgets
Communicate effectively within the team and with external partners
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and funders
Champion safeguarding, compliance, and continuous improvement
Represent The Nelson Trust and the Women’s Centre at meetings and events
Foster a culture of learning and development within the team
Requirements:
Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., social work, mental health, education, youth work, therapeutic practice, or similar)
Experience leading and supervising teams, ideally in services supporting women or families with complex needs
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and adult protection legislation
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Ability to analyse information, write clear reports, and use data to drive improvements
Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development
