The City of Darwin is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer to join our Infrastructure team to help deliver the City's Capital Works Program in line with our strategic vision Darwin 2030 - City for People. City of Colour. Reporting to the Manager Capital Projects, this pivotal role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of complex capital works projects. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of capital works delivery through effective governance, innovative design and construction approaches, and sound contract and financial management. Working within an agile, high‑performance organisational model, you will embody Council's CARES values and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners. Job Responsibility:
End-to-end delivery of a portfolio of complex capital works projects
Lead project planning and implementation
Manage contractors and consultants
Oversee budgets and schedules
Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to quality standards
Community consultation
Liaison with service authorities
Preparation of high-level reports and briefings
Contribute to continuous improvement of capital works delivery through effective governance, innovative design and construction approaches, and sound contract and financial management
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or at least 10 years industry experience
Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
Possession of an OHS White Card
Motivated team player
Proven consultation and stakeholder management skills
Proven time, quality and financial acumen
