Summit Skilled Solutions is supporting a confidential client in the search for a Senior Project Manager with strong design-build experience. This individual will lead complex commercial projects from concept through closeout while operating with a high level of autonomy and ownership. This role is ideal for an experienced PM who enjoys being trusted to run projects end-to-end and prefers a lean organization over a heavily bureaucratic environment. Project Types: Design-build commercial construction; Private schools; Church renovations; Project values ranging from $2.5M–$10M.
Job Responsibility:
Lead projects from pre-construction, design coordination, and budgeting through construction and closeout
Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, design partners, subcontractors, and internal teams
Collaborate closely with architects and engineers
Manage design development, constructability reviews, and value engineering
Ensure alignment between design intent, budget, and schedule
Develop and maintain detailed schedules and budgets
Track job costs, change orders, and forecasting
Identify and mitigate risks to schedule and profitability
Operate with minimal oversight while maintaining transparency
Set the tone for accountability, urgency, and quality
Mentor junior team members as the organization grows
Requirements:
7+ years of project management experience in commercial construction
Strong design-build project background
Proven ability to manage projects independently from start to finish
Experience managing projects valued at $2.5M–$10M
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Smartsheet, Foundation preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Nice to have:
Background with small to mid-sized general contractors
Thrives in lean environments with high accountability
Comfortable making decisions without layers of approval
