Job Description

Datalec Precision Installations provides world-class data centre design, build, and installation services. We are currently seeking a senior project manager to manage the full life cycle of a project, opportunities, delivery, compliance and customer escalations. Control the overall design and operational delivery of projects, considering the safety, technical, commercial, and managerial requirements, from bid and pre-commencement through to successful practical completion. Ensuring that profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership, high-quality customer relations and management of relevant support functions allocated to the project.

Job Responsibility

Demonstrate strong Health and Safety leadership and compliance throughout all activities relating to the project
Overall supervision of installation teams and project managers to ensure the safe completion of the project within agreed time scales and budgets
Ensure all projects are delivered in adherence with all ISO requirements and business systems
Ensure site rules are observed by all that are working for and on behalf of DPI staff and sub-contractors and any other 3rd party suppliers
To oversee the production & updating of Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS)
Conduct site surveys, ensure compliance with project design and compile material list for production
Working with the senior team, providing ownership with client relations and participate in bid activities supporting sales as well as the bid proposal team
Review and measure project and team performance in line with project and team KPIs
To ensure that professional, profitable, and successful bids are delivered
Manage pre-commencement activities in line with the business project delivery process
Supply chain engagement, maintaining relations and understanding escalation structure and processes to overcome barriers to resolve disputes or issues
Proactively engage with the commercial team ensuring Subcontractor contracts and performance are implemented
Responsible for proactively engaging with the commercial team to identify and manage project risks, opportunities and CVR reports
Lead the teams to effectively manage the appointed specialist Sub-Contractors
Provide leadership for the project management delivery teams within the area of control
Provision / Manage teams to provide of Customer Progress / general Reporting in a timely and regularly manner
Contribute towards DPI strategy and goals, supporting the senior management team to implement policies and procedures
Prepares for and carries out employee performance reviews with direct reports
Maintains/develops skills and team performance to deliver required outcomes
Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours
Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards

Requirements

PMP certified or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role
Demonstrable experience within the data centre industry, ideally within both white and grey space and connectivity bias
Degree in Engineering, Business Studies or a related field preferred
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business financial principles, including profit and loss and costings
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain excellent client/customer relations
Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure, managing and driving schedules
Sector and industry knowledge within Data Centre and associated services environment
Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations with demonstrable experience implementing policies and procedures, ideally certified in this field
Must hold and maintain the necessary accreditations and certifications relevant to the level of this role, sector and industry
IT skills in Word, Excel, Projects and PowerPoint
Flexibility to travel as required by the business
