Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a large‑scale GIS platform upgrade initiative. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex IT projects in alignment with established PMO standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and brings strong leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery execution skills. This role will manage multiple workstreams involving IT, business operations, and external partners, ensuring project objectives related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and governance are successfully achieved.

Job Responsibility:

Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and documentation objectives are met
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders including IT teams (infrastructure, testing, cybersecurity, operations), business units, and external partners
Coordinate and govern activities performed by system integrators, including task planning, deliverable reviews, issue resolution, and change control
Ensure project execution adheres to PMO methodologies, standards, templates, and reporting requirements
Facilitate working sessions, design reviews, and decision forums related to GIS data modeling, workflows, and system integration impacts
Partner with subject matter experts to validate data models, standards, and implementation readiness
Identify and manage project risks and dependencies related to data quality, system integration, resourcing, and cutover activities
Manage project communications to ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders
Manage project budgets, including financial planning, tracking actuals vs. plan, monthly forecasting, and accrual reporting

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
10+ years of project management experience
PMP certification required
Strong understanding of project management fundamentals
Experience leading diverse, cross‑functional technical teams
Experience supporting system upgrades, migrations, or platform modernization initiatives
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a complex, fast‑paced environment
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and project/portfolio management (PPM) tools
Excellent customer‑facing, decision‑making, organizational, and analytical skills
Must be local to New Jersey and able to work onsite in South Plainfield three days per week

Nice to have:

Experience within the utilities industry (electric, gas, or combined)
Prior experience managing GIS‑related projects or data‑intensive platforms
