Job Description:

Our client, a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Birmingham office. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the education, residential, and refurbishment sectors. As a Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with a multi-skilled team and external partners, taking ownership of project delivery while supporting the development of junior colleagues. A Senior Project Manager role offers the scope to manage complex schemes from inception to completion, influence outcomes at every stage, and contribute to the consultancy’s continued success in the construction industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent across a variety of building types, using standard forms of construction contracts
  • Managing client relationships, including presenting schemes, project programming, and progress updates
  • Appointing and overseeing the professional team, ensuring delivery against agreed programmes
  • Preparing feasibility studies, appraisals, and outline design proposals with cost estimates
  • Leading procurement processes, including tender analysis and reporting
  • Carrying out regular site visits and issuing inspection reports
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet quality, cost, and time objectives
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the project management team.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Project Management, Building Surveying, or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
  • Chartered or Associate membership with RICS or equivalent professional body preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
  • Experience in education, residential, and refurbishment projects advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain client satisfaction.
