Job Description

This is a brilliant opportunity to lead some of the most critical infrastructure projects in the UK’s energy transition at a pivotal moment in our growth. You’ll have real ownership from day one, taking the lead on complex, high-value programmes that directly shape how EV charging scales nationally.

Job Responsibility

  • Own End-to-End Project Delivery - You’ll oversee the entire pipeline of high-power DC charging depot infrastructure deployment from site survey through design and delivery to final handover
  • Manage Contracts with Confidence - You’ll act as the main administrator for NEC short-form contracts, handling instructions, compensation events, and payment assessments
  • Coordinate Grid Connections - you’ll work closely with DNOs and IDNOs to secure capacity at scale, managing applications, technical approvals, and delivery of network upgrades
  • Lead Contractor and Supplier Delivery - you’ll appoint and manage civil contractors, electrical installers, and hardware partners, ensuring alignment on scope, programme, cost, and quality
  • Drive Programme Performance - you’ll build and maintain detailed project plans, balancing timelines, dependencies, and cost loading to keep delivery on track
  • Own Financial Outcomes - you’ll manage budgets, procurement, and forecasting, providing clear reporting on cost, value, and risk throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure Safety and Quality Standards - you’ll champion HSE best practice across all sites, ensuring full compliance with CDM regulations and internal quality expectations
  • Drive Stakeholder Alignment - You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, DNOs, contractors, and delivery partners to keep projects moving, solve issues quickly, and ensure everyone stays aligned on scope, timelines, and outcomes
  • Manage Risk and Remove Delivery Blockers-You’ll identify project risks early, from grid delays to site conditions and supply chain constraints, and put clear mitigation plans in place to protect programme, cost, and quality

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven project management experience specifically within high-power DC rapid charging depots, utility-scale renewables, or heavy electrical infrastructure
  • Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, ideally within EV charging, utilities, renewables, or heavy electrical environments
  • Hands-on experience managing NEC contracts, including variations, compensation events, and commercial risk
  • Strong understanding of high-power DC charging technology (150kW–400kW+), liquid-cooled cabling, power sharing architectures, BESS and LV/MV distribution systems
  • Familiarity with DNO processes, contestable works, and large-scale power connections
  • Formal certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP, or equivalent practical experience delivering complex programmes
  • Good understanding of site safety regulations (CDM regulations), including Principle Designer and Contractor roles
  • Strong commercial acumen to manage contractor rates and equipment procurement under strict contractual frameworks
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide
