We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our North West Operations team based from our Chorley office and take exciting initiatives from start to finish. As a Senior Project Manager for Story, you will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of infrastructure projects across multiple sectors including Rail, Water and Energy. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead with Safety: Drive Projects to Success with a Commitment to Excellence, Well-being, and Risk Management. Ensure every milestone is achieved with the highest standards of safety and quality
Client Management: Lead and manage the Client relationship to establish and understand their needs and expectations for projects
Project Planning: Ensure that comprehensive project plans are in place for all projects and that programme risk is understood, managed and escalated appropriately
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
Commercial: Take ownership for the commercial out-turn of the portfolio to meet business plan targets
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure all project deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and achievements
Requirements:
Proven experience in project delivery in the infrastructure sector, preferably in safety critical environments
Experience working under the NEC suite of contracts
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven leader with strong communication skills
Excellent IT skills across the Microsoft Office package
Minimum HNC in a relevant technical discipline or proven experience
Track record in successful Client Management
Strong organisational skills
Extensive experience in commercial management of projects and reporting to Senior Management and Clients
Nice to have:
Relevant professional qualification is desirable but not essential e.g CEng
