Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager role for a 6-month contract in North York. This is hybrid role. High potential for contract extension.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the overall success of the project and its implementation
  • ensure project deliverables and technical solution to be delivered within agreed scope, quality, timelines, and within approved budget
  • Evaluate and recommend scalable multi-jurisdictional business and technical solutions that meet client's and business requirements in the context of corporate standards, policies and procedures for information technologies and architectures
  • Lead and manage the project cross-functional team
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff including the scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work
  • Identify required project team members and work with the project sponsor, program manager and functional managers to secure all project resources
  • Create and/or facilitate, maintain, communicate, and distribute project documentation along with required approvals from all stakeholders during the project life cycle
  • Provide status updates to project stakeholders including monthly submission project status report via Corporate Service Management
  • Lead and/or participates the preparation of various formal contractual documents such as: Request for Expression of Interest (REOI), Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation/Resource (RFI/P/Q/R), ITAPP, Statement of Work (SOW), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) if required
  • Manage risks, issues, and changes
  • maintain Issues Log up to date and detailed enough to be acted on
  • Manage the project cost within the allocated and approved budget
  • Manage project stakeholders and their expectations

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and/or hands-on relevant working experience
  • PMP® Certification from PMI (with Current Status: Active/In good standing)
  • 10+ years progressive project managing experience working on large-scale information technology projects when using common project management standards and methodologies (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2 and SDLC Waterfall or Agile) in similar or larger initiatives
  • 10+ years extensive experience in managing and overseeing cross-functional team(s) during business requirements gathering & analysis, impact analysis, subject matter experts interviews, joint-application-design sessions and working sessions to map business processes
  • 10+ years working experience in leading project activities when contributing and overseeing the project documentation deliverables produced by the team members such as business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, business process workflows (BPM/BPMN), data modeling blueprints, architecture diagrams, supporting technical design specification documentation
  • 7+ years working experience in leading the evaluation various digital solutions, delivering and/or contributing to jurisdictional scan documentation, feasibility studies and evaluations, when recommending architecture options, providing technical consultation on recommended solutions
  • Experience in a government/public sector setting on modernization and replacement legacy system projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication ability (written and oral) that allow to interact and maintain an effective working relationship with project team members, clients and others projects stakeholders when having a strong customer service orientation and commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • 7+ years extensive working experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting when applying the knowledge of industry standard PMO/PMI methodologies and tools (e.g. MS Office, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, WebEx)
  • Proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) and techniques to develop project plans and schedules various levels during software development projects
  • 5+ years working experience in preparation of various formal contractual documents and subsequent evaluation activities such as: Request for Expression of Interest (REOI), Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation/Resource (RFI/P/Q/R), ITAPP, Statement of Work (SOW), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) if required
  • Ability to perform detail‐oriented business and contribute to technical reviews on project deliverables during the analysis to discover, refine, and document the requirements for technically‐oriented projects
  • Working experience with technical and business teams in supporting Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance, Security Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA), Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)
