Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading, supporting, and coaching teams to deliver large and complex projects or programs spanning one or more business units. Responsibilities include managing strategic initiatives, resource planning, and risk management while fostering innovation and collaboration within project teams. Candidates with financial services experience, particularly in life insurance and annuity, are ideal.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage strategic, continuous improvement, and transformation initiatives
  • Lead all aspects of a project and/or program to ensure timely and effective delivery
  • Work with multiple development methodologies like waterfall, iterative, and agile
  • Define and implement practical solutions to align with strategic objectives
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Monitor performance and manage risks, issues, and reporting
  • Coordinate project planning including resource, staff, and subcontract management
  • Mentor team members in methodologies, tools, and communication skills
  • Facilitate improvement methodology to diverse audiences.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing strategic, continuous improvement, and transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with multiple development methodologies such as waterfall, iterative, and agile (scrum, kanban)
  • Awareness of agile techniques such as automated testing, user stories, test-driven development, and continuous integration
  • Strong critical thinking skills to define practical solutions aligned with strategic objectives
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with executive sponsors, business owners, and stakeholders
  • Experience with monitoring performance and recommending schedule changes, cost, or resource adjustments
  • Ability to manage project change requests that impact scope, schedule
  • Experience in project planning including resource, staff, supply, and subcontract management
  • Ability to mentor team members in leadership, methodology, tools, and communication skills
  • PMP Certification or proficiency in PPM tools
  • Experience in financial services, preferably life insurance and annuity
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and Salesforce Administration.
