Job Description:

The Single BOM Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the implementation of the Single Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Management strategy. In this role, you will partner with IT, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, integrated solutions that create a single source of truth for product data. You will lead the program from planning through execution, shaping delivery strategy, managing change, and ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Single BOM and Engineering Change Management
  • Define scope, implementation plans, resource needs, and delivery timelines
  • Identify cross‑functional risks, dependencies, and constraints
  • drive mitigation and escalation where needed
  • Provide clear, data‑driven updates to senior leadership through compelling storytelling and KPIs
  • Facilitate inclusive, focused meetings with clear outcomes and strong follow‑through
  • Influence without authority to drive alignment, decisions, and execution across technical and non‑technical teams
  • Champion effective change management practices to support adoption
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid frameworks appropriately to meet program goals
  • Model GM values, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software or technology program/project management experience
  • Proven success leading cross functional programs with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong mastery of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive execution
  • Experience managing ambiguity and leading teams through change
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and diverse cultures

Nice to have:

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with GM’s Vehicle Engineering & Quality or Manufacturing Engineering systems and data flows

  • Specifying materials for purchasing including identifying vendors, initiating requests for quotation, making best price/best value purchasing determinations, specification compliance and tracking delivery of material
  • Attend customer meetings / vendor meetings and offer meaningful input as it relates to the project
  • Assist in the gathering of costs for equipment, labor estimates, subcontractor estimates, and other costs in preparation of proposals and commercial quotes
