The Senior Project Manager is responsible for scheduling, work coordination, and managing all on-site construction activities. Provides direction and management for every phase of a project to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Job Responsibility:
Plans and defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them
develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies
Responsible for all scheduling and work coordination between shop and erector and manage all on site work activities
Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for drawing approvals, shop issues, buy outs and erection
Responsible for managing and tracking all payments, changing orders, and back charges
Responsible for training, coaching, and overseeing the work of Project Managers
Responsible for all issues involving erection and mechanical installation
Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all program or project activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule
Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the program or project execution
Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client
Assists business development in understanding client issues and business plans to market and secure new/additional work
Estimating for structural and mechanical change orders
Prepare a complete estimated price with a comprehensive description of all items
Prepare time, cost, labor, freight shipping etc
Manage Field Reports, monitor the Earned Values per Project, perform site visits, presents safety presentations and other duties as assigned
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with steel fabrication, erection and estimating with 2 years management experience
Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements
Must be detail oriented
Must have excellent oral/written communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds occasionally
