Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for scheduling, work coordination, and managing all on-site construction activities. Provides direction and management for every phase of a project to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.

Job Responsibility

  • Plans and defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them
  • develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies
  • Responsible for all scheduling and work coordination between shop and erector and manage all on site work activities
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for drawing approvals, shop issues, buy outs and erection
  • Responsible for managing and tracking all payments, changing orders, and back charges
  • Responsible for training, coaching, and overseeing the work of Project Managers
  • Responsible for all issues involving erection and mechanical installation
  • Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all program or project activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule
  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the program or project execution
  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client
  • Assists business development in understanding client issues and business plans to market and secure new/additional work
  • Estimating for structural and mechanical change orders
  • Prepare a complete estimated price with a comprehensive description of all items
  • Prepare time, cost, labor, freight shipping etc
  • Manage Field Reports, monitor the Earned Values per Project, perform site visits, presents safety presentations and other duties as assigned
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with steel fabrication, erection and estimating with 2 years management experience
  • Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must have excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to travel to off-site jobs
