We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager/Leader to drive a large-scale, complex consolidation initiative in Toronto. This high-profile role requires a strategic leader capable of managing high-risk IT projects from concept through to close-out. You will be responsible for ensuring deliverables meet business requirements on time and within budget while maintaining strict fiscal control and adhering to enterprise-level project management frameworks.
Job Responsibility
Lead the planning and implementation of mission-critical initiatives, ensuring compliance with established methodologies, gating processes, and system quality standards
Develop and manage complex project budgets across multiple funding channels, ensuring rigorous fiscal control, forecasting, and reconciliation
Create and maintain detailed integrated project plans (IPP)
perform variance analysis, adjust leads/lags, and monitor critical path activities to prevent slippage
Proactively identify potential risks and issues, articulating them to senior executives and recommending effective mitigation strategies
Establish and lead steering committees and stakeholder forums, managing relationships with senior staff and external delivery partners
Clarify roles for cross-functional teams (including unionized staff and consultants), resolve resourcing conflicts, and set clear performance expectations
Develop business transformation and adoption plans, using strategic actions to overcome resistance and facilitate smooth organizational transitions
Oversee data migration strategies, vendor contracts, and the translation of complex business needs into technical specifications
Requirements
5–9 years of project management experience leading complex IT initiatives involving business transformation and system design
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Hands-on experience with MS Project, Planview, Jira, and Confluence
Familiarity with ETL processes, data migration, API integrations, and information security best practices
Experience with large-scale repository consolidations and digital standards (e.g., HL7 FHIR)
Knowledge of privacy legislation requirements related to data and business processes
5+ years of experience working with broad public-sector providers, including knowledge of registry building blocks (Client, Provider, Consent) and provincial IT approval processes
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines in high-pressure environments
