Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing leasing, acquisition, and disposition of real property assets, ensuring alignment with GM’s strategic objectives and delivering exceptional value to stakeholders. Reporting to the Group Manager of either Manufacturing or Non-Manufacturing, this position will serve as the real estate expert and relationship manager for internal GM customers such as Customer Care & Aftersales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing & Supply Chain, Product Development, Connected Customer Experience, IT, and Design.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct site searches, develop transaction strategies, and manage timelines for real estate projects
  • Negotiate real estate contracts, including business terms and legal language, directly with owners, buyers, sellers, landlords, and other parties
  • Engage stakeholders involved in transactions, including business units, legal, environmental, consultants, and brokers
  • Ensure uniform delivery of real estate services consistent with GM policies and procedures
  • Manage corporate real estate documents and information workflows
  • Provide support for business unit budgeting and financial planning
  • Deliver presentations to leadership at divisional and corporate levels
  • Collaborate with Public Policy and interface with local authorities on land use, permitting, entitlements, and property matters
  • Champion the Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship brand, increasing awareness and engagement among business partners, service providers, and contractors
  • Travel as required to support project execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of real estate experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or a related field of study
  • Capability to lead projects involving internal stakeholders and external resources and be skilled in negotiations, financial analysis and a broad range of real estate matters including legal and environmental
  • Strong business acumen and, solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly motivated, organized, creative, and success oriented
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), chat and virtual meeting tools (e.g. Teams, Slack), and experience using AI

Nice to have

  • Diverse experience in corporate real estate, brokerage or tenant representation, economic development, and real estate investment/ development
  • MBA and/or JD
  • Active Real Estate License or Broker’s License
