Job Description

Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Capital Delivery Team, leading the delivery of a range of complex capital projects across the organisation. This role provides an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and community projects that support growth and long-term outcomes for Rotorua.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the delivery of complex capital projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, time, cost, and quality requirements
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to support successful delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including iwi, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Procure and manage professional services and construction contracts, including performance monitoring and contract administration
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts, ensuring effective cost control and reporting
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet Council and regulatory standards, including appropriate verification and documentation
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting to Programme Managers and governance forums to support decision making

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or a related field
  • Proven experience delivering complex capital or infrastructure projects
  • Strong commercial and contract management capability
  • Experience procuring and managing professional services and construction contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
