We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for a client of ours servicing the mining, marine terminal and similar heavy industries. The Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the day to day management of the complete project on site. Managing the seven aspects of a project, i.e. scope, schedule, finance, contract, risk & opportunity, quality and resources in accordance with the Contract, Client Requirements and our clients processes and procedures.
Job Responsibility
Develop Project Execution Planning and produce a project Schedule in conjunction with the Project Planner (WBS Coded and Baselined)
Implement the WBS & Baseline to represent to As-Sold scope
Create the Project Budget (WBS Coded) and baseline in accordance with the As-Sold Sales Cost Sheet
Budget Management and Administration
Contract Management (with Contract Manager)
Manage Client and Stakeholder Relationships
Evaluate project performance, progress and implement corrective actions if/where required
Managing of Project Risks
Coordination of Project Team
Manage all project resources
Project Risk Management
Project Communication Management (Internal/External)
Commercial Communication
Requirements
5-10 years project management Experience (PMP & University Engineering Degree advantageous)
Background: Mining and Materials handling is advantageous and within the EPC environment for international project execution
Industry Knowledge: The ability to understand the specific needs and challenges of the specific bulk materials handling and mining sector, such as customer expectations by geography, environmental regulations, safety standards, and market trends (new technologies /AI)
Delivery Time Management: The ability to plan, control, and optimize the times required for the procurement of the goods and services whilst ensure their quality
Project Management: The ability to plan, execute, monitor, and close industrial projects of different sizes, scopes, and complexities, and ensure they meet the customer’s requirements and expectations
Contract Management: Client Contract and Sub-Contract Management
Leadership and Communication: The ability to lead, motivate, and empower the project and supply chain teams, set clear goals and expectations, provide feedback and coaching, and resolve conflicts
Decision making and Problem solving: The ability to make sound and timely decisions based on data, analysis, and intuition gathered by the project monitoring, and take full responsibility for the project outcomes
Negotiation Skills: meaning the ability to negotiate effectively and fairly with different parties, such as customers, suppliers, contractors, and regulators, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
Technical Skills: The ability to use various tools and technologies to support the project and supply chain management, such as project management software, supply chain management software, quality management software, and data analysis and reporting software, or integrated with the companies ERP landscape
