As the Senior Project Engineer, you will coordinate on-site engineering functions to achieve critical time and budget objectives while providing efficient support for construction activities. You will manage a direct team of 1–4 engineers and approximately 10 indirect reports, overseeing the lifecycle of track works in both Greenfield and Brownfield environments.
Job Responsibility:
Manage on-site functions through subordinates, including Project and Cost/Planning Engineers, to ensure technical and administrative aims are achieved
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment, check work drawings against site conditions, and arrange necessary modifications
Provide accurate forecasts of costs and revenue, utilizing corrective actions to maximize profit margins
Liaise with clients (including Queensland Rail and DTMR), consultants, and subcontractors to ensure satisfactory completion of track work
Maintain accurate project documentation, including Activity Method Statements (AMS), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and progress reports
Lead constructability and staging reviews, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on delivery
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of post-graduate engineering experience, with at least 4 years based on-site
Proven experience on projects valued at >$50M
Strong understanding of Quality, Safety, Environmental, and Design Management Plans
Must be a valid Rail Industry Worker (RIW)
