Job Description

Primero is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Construction Project Team on a FIFO 2:1 roster. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Construction Manager in determining priorities, meeting strict deadlines and budget demands whilst also providing guidance and support to the SMP Project Engineering team.

Job Responsibility

  • Proactively communicate with the superintendents, supervisors and project engineers and stay abreast of project communication to autonomously develop and manage work tasks and priorities
  • Communicate with the supervisors and leading hands to understand daily construction progress and capture in the QMR to support project tracking
  • Read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and any other engineering documentation /report
  • Perform calculations for site modification and general site engineering problem solving using engineering formulas and skills
  • Compile and maintain workpacks of relevant information to support construction works by the site SMP team e.g drawings
  • Provide technical support to the supervisors, leading hands and trades for execution of the workpacks
  • Communicate with the design team to resolve issues identified with design information in preparing and executing workpacks
  • Communicate with the planning team to resolve issues identified with data entry into QMR
  • Redline markup design information with site as constructed information where there are differences
  • Provide engineering support to close out completion of construction activities e.g. participate in walkdowns, ITRs and punch lists documentation
  • Communicate and work with the site project engineers to develop and maintain various trackers with the aim to provide visibility on location and quantity of construction materials

Requirements

  • Previous demonstrated experience as a site based Senior Project Engineer on Major Projects
  • Experience with managing multiple packages and subcontractors
  • Strong and effective communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Previous experience in piping and process plant work would be highly regarded
