The Senior Project Engineer - Process Controls shall be responsible for engineering and coordination of process systems, including product finishing systems, air handling units, exhaust systems including dust collection systems, fume/volatile abatement systems, chilled/hot water systems, compressed air systems, conveyors, and associated machinery and automation items found in general industry. Engineering and design of equipment integration (utility connection) projects focusing on the electrical installation portion of various machines for manufacturing.
Job Responsibility:
Engineering and coordination of process systems
Prepare and manage the development of all systems integration and controls related project deliverables
Mentor and direct other engineers
Engage in process design discussions
Responsible for control system engineering calculations, systems integration, control system concepts, design development and implementation documents
Understand mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
Coordinate and update mechanical designs
Understand and be familiar with National Electric Code, local and safety codes & standards and Client standards
Participate with project team and client to prepare or edit customer specifications and project scope of work
Generate operation concepts and requirements, data acquisition and control, flow diagrams and P&ID’s, system flows and sequence of operations
Specify and design control systems
Specify and design power distribution systems
Develop controls schematic design
Provide engineering estimates
Track project status and schedule
Review and approve contractor engineering submittals and drawings
Review and approve fabrication facilities and production equipment prior to shipment
Direct and mentor fellow Ghafari engineers
Review system as-built/as-installed drawings
Travel to client’s sites to perform field site visits
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
Proficient in AutoCAD
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have:
Revit proficiency
Previous experience with PLC’s (Allen Bradley ControlLogix family, Siemens), networks (Profibus, Ethernet, DeviceNet, etc.) and related software
