We are looking for a SeniorProject Engineer (Connectivity) to lead modification programs in driving safety, quality and technical excellence using innovation and best practices to deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. We are looking for people who can work out of Frimley (UK). The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Connectivity team who develop, certify and integrate innovative antenna solutions for high-speed, on-board, wi-fi connectivity. The candidate will be working directly with BGS global engineering and programme management teams across multiple time-zones.
Job Responsibility:
Leading the day-to-day execution and integration of engineering activities, across all engineering disciplines, for aircraft connectivity
Integrating discipline task plans into a single coherent project engineering plan, ensuring cross-discipline alignment and logical sequencing
Acting as the primary engineering interface with Programme Management, functional engineering teams, the Office of Airworthiness, suppliers, and customers as required
Working closely with customers, outside vendors, MROs regulatory agencies and other teams within the company to create engineering solutions that exceed customer expectations on time and within budget
Providing independent advice to support the development of safe, compliant and practical solutions across all modification projects
Identifying, assessing, and managing project-level engineering Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIO), with inputs from the discipline DLs
Preparing for and support key engineering gates and reviews, including ITCM, PDR, CDR, and equivalent lifecycle milestones, ensuring discipline readiness
Monitoring engineering progress against plan and report project technical health, risks, and required support
Being accountable for the on-time performance of engineering tasks in support of project milestones and gates
Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required – around 20% of the time
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Minimum 7-years aviation/aerospace (or related) industry experience
Experience of acting as the engineering point of contact for multi-discipline functions of the business, and external stakeholders
Fluency in English both written and spoken
Nice to have:
Excellent working knowledge of technical engineering activities involved in the modification of commercial aircraft
Managing and coordinating engineering project tasks, with sufficient technical understanding of commercial aircraft modifications to understand dependencies and implications of timely completion of said tasks
Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, CS-25, CFR Part 25 & Part 21J design organisations
Ability to work on multiple programmes with varying level of requirements efficiently and effectively
A recognized aeronautical or aerospace engineering degree, however other internationally recognized engineering degrees will be considered based on technical knowledge and experience
