This position is responsible to develop, implement and manage capital projects related to water and wastewater facilities including treatment upgrades, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks, pipelines, and other related facilities, with a focus in electrical improvements. While this candidate would serve as the electrical lead for Veolia’s capital upgrades, they will also be expected to manage small projects in other areas as needed to support the utility’s capital plan and operations. Candidate will participate in and actively contribute to short and long-term system planning as assigned. Effectively manages consultants and contractors for project delivery.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement and manage capital projects related to water and wastewater facilities with a focus in electrical improvements
Serve as the electrical lead for Veolia’s capital upgrades
Manage small projects in other areas as needed
Participate in and actively contribute to short and long-term system planning
Effectively manage consultants and contractors for project delivery
Work closely with Engineering and Operations personnel
Ensure Asset Owner satisfaction by delivering projects in accordance with the success criteria defined in the project plan
Responsible for $6-$8M in capital projects annually
Manage the project development, design and construction of large and small capital projects
Ensure corporate Technical and Environmental Health and Safety/Security standards are incorporated into the design specifications
Manage and report on project expenditures
Coordinate with the master planning department
Assist with developing analysis and reports
Drive efficiency into project delivery
Manage environmental and governmental permitting
Participate in master planning efforts of existing systems and new acquisitions
Participate in the development of engineering design and delivery processes and standards
Provide technical expertise on engineering and operational issues
Ability to work transversally with corporate and local business units
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, commensurate experience may be considered
Minimum 10 years of experience managing electrical design, MEP design, or construction projects
Five (5) years of experience managing water/wastewater-specific projects including electrical upgrade projects for treatment plants, and pumping stations
Experience leading and managing multi-faceted teams
