Job Description

The Senior Project Delivery (SPDE) role exists to manage the end-to-end delivery of site capital projects for our Hellman’s Mayonnaise factory in Chicago. The projects will be based on a wide range of safety, quality, infrastructure, savings, and equipment improvements across many technologies and functional areas including process, packaging, utilities and land/buildings. SPDE will contribute in ongoing development and delivery of site investment masterplan and provide technical support to the day to day and reliability activities.

  • Provide technical support to the day to day and reliability activities
  • Organized and detail oriented to deliver projects respective safety, product quality, project timing, and cost
  • Management of improvement projects in a fast-moving environment with many stakeholders
  • Responsible for cost estimating, analyzing options, building business cases, critiquing designs, managing construction, installation, commissioning, and handover with minimal supervision
  • Lead other activities in our safety, quality, and continuous improvement programs
  • Be a site expert on food processing, packaging, and energy and utilities management
  • Leads the standardization and development of the plant masterplan for packaging, process, grounds, and utilities
  • Technical resource to the category engineering team for new products and re-stages (innovation and renovation), and a resource for factory continuous improvement programs
  • Participates in cross-plant improvement teams
  • Develop strong partnership with plant manufacturing, continuous improvement, corporate engineering and union workforce
  • Supports root cause analysis for both manufacturing and reliability teams
  • Bring new Ways of Working to the Engineering community
  • Execute projects by delivering the best Value without compromising any Values
  • On Time In Full (OTIF) end to end delivery of multiple capital projects (typical value $0.1m - 2 Million per project) adhering to Unilever project management standards and ensuring safety as our number one priority

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • 3+ Years of Engineering in FMCG / related Industry or gained in an engineering consultancy environment
  • End-to-end project management/engineering, maintenance, or continuous improvement experience with food processing and/or utilities systems in manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • along with the ability to negotiate

Nice to have

  • First-hand experience delivering major capital projects ($2+ million) within FMCG environment
  • 5+ Years of Project Engineering in FMCG / related Industry or gained in an engineering consultancy environment
