Under the overall authority of the Regional Director of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Regional Office in Bangkok and Office for UN Coordination for Asia and the Pacific, and the direct supervision from Head of Myanmar Project Antenna and the program specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for providing programme implementation support to the UNESCO Myanmar Projects, namely the System Capacity Grant (SCG) and the System Transformation Grant (STG). UNESCO Myanmar Project Antenna Office (hereafter UNESCO Office) plays a key role in supporting Myanmar's education sector through technical assistance, policy advocacy, and coordination among development partners. UNESCO facilitates sector-wide dialogue and collaboration, contributing to strategic planning and capacity development at both national and subnational levels. The office provides leadership in education sector coordination, including its role in co-chairing the sectoral coordination groups and supports initiatives aimed at ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education.
Job Responsibility:
Provide administrative support in procurement, recruitment and logistics activities related to the project execution, advise colleagues on administrative rules and procedures
Monitor project execution via regular reporting on project -related commitments and expenditures
Compile and maintain data and project files for the use in the planning, analysis and evaluation of project operations
present data in narrative or graphic formats, as required
Provide guidance and interpretation of finance and budget rules, regulations and procedures to internal colleagues and implementing partners
Identify operational risks, alert supervisor, the partners and contractors in case of errors or problems and propose corrective steps
Perform technical and procedural duties related to finance/budget, logistics and HR operations
Assist in disseminating information and contribute to effective communication on project implementation with other units, internal colleagues and external partners
Perform additional activities that may be required to ensure the success of the work team
Requirements:
Completed secondary education and/or Bachelor's Degree in the field of business administration, finance, accounting, computer science, management or related areas
Minimum eight (8) years of work experience in integrated service execution and comprehensive process support preferably in an international environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Data management skills
Organizational and coordination skills, with emphasis on quality, efficiency and aptitude to work under pressure
Discretion, initiative and service oriented to provide quality and timely support and services
Capacity to deal with people of different cultural backgrounds efficiently and tactfully
Flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities. Attention to detail and meticulous in correspondence
Good knowledge of established data management tools and standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of English and Myanmar (spoken and written)
Nice to have:
Bachelor's Degree or higher Degree the field of business administration, finance, accounting, computer science, management, international development or related areas
Experience within the UN System or international organizations
Experience in conducting research will be an advantage
Experience in the field of ICT, including familiarity with learning management systems and education management information systems
