The role supports the Program Management Operational Value Streams for Master Data & Program Structure, Program Work Authorization & Movement, Integrated Plans and Schedules, Integrated Program Baselines, Production Planning, Commitment & Implementation, and Measure, Analyze, Monitor & Control Performance.
Job Responsibility:
Provide domain architecture leadership across Boeing’s Program Management portfolio, aligning business capabilities, applications, integrations, data flows, and technology strategies to enterprise priorities
Define and maintain current-state, transition-state, and target-state architectures for Program Management capabilities across the Operational Value Streams
Assess the Program Management application landscape to identify capability overlap, solution duplication, technical debt, integration complexity, supportability concerns, operational risk, and modernization opportunities
Partner with business and Information Technology (IT) stakeholders to understand capability needs and ensure architecture decisions support business continuity, resilience, compliance, scalability, and long-term maintainability
Guide architecture and solution direction across Program Management areas
Create and evolve transition architectures and roadmap options that move the portfolio from fragmented current-state solutions toward more aligned and sustainable future-state capabilities
Support application rationalization efforts by evaluating where capabilities should be sustained, modernized, consolidated, replaced, or newly enabled
Lead architecture tradeoff analysis across business need, technical feasibility, cost, schedule, security, supportability, and lifecycle impact
Establish and communicate architecture principles, integration patterns, design constraints, and solution guardrails aligned to Boeing enterprise architecture direction
Drive cross-application and cross-business-unit alignment to improve interoperability and reduce unnecessary divergence across BCA, BDS, BGS and Enterprise
Partner with product families, technical leads, and solution teams to ensure architectural direction is translated into practical implementation approaches
Evaluate architecture impacts across the product lifecycle, including application dependencies, data quality, integration stability, security, compliance, operational readiness, and downstream reporting or analytics use cases
Support transformation planning and solution evolution involving SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), and other Program Management enabling technologies where applicable
Identify architectural and technical impediments that create delivery friction, operational instability, or long-term portfolio risk, and work across teams to drive resolution
Provide clear architectural recommendations, roadmap guidance, and risk-based decision support to both technical and business leadership
Maintain architectural documentation including capability mappings, current/future state views, transition plans, integration landscapes, and decision records
Influence adoption of best practices for engineering quality, portfolio simplification, integration discipline, data strategy, and sustainable modernization
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in segment/system or business architecture
5+ years of experience modernizing legacy technology to cloud native, refactoring monoliths to microservices using refactoring techniques such as domain driven design (DDD), event storming, strangler fig, transitional architectures, etc.

Experience in Portfolio Management or the rationalization of prioritizing how an organization invests its budget
Experience leading teams to develop future state data and information architectures
Nice to have:
5+ years of experience assessing current-state environments and defining future-state and transition-state architectures
Experience with Boeing Program Management processes, capabilities, and supporting systems
Experience supporting or architecting solutions aligned to Program Management Operational Value Streams
Experience with Boeing Application Development & Sustaining (AD&S) processes
Experience developing coexistence strategies, phased roadmaps, and transition architectures for legacy-to-modern solution evolution
Experience establishing architecture principles, standards, and integration patterns across multiple teams, product families, or business units
Experience supporting enterprise solutions used across BCA, BDS, BGS, and/or Enterprise
Experience with architecture frameworks or modeling approaches such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), capability mapping, current/future state modeling, or similar enterprise architecture practices
Experience guiding solution direction in environments that include Boeing-built, supplier-delivered, and commercial package solutions
Experience partnering effectively with geographically distributed teams and senior business stakeholders
Experience identifying and addressing technical debt, application overlap, integration risk, supportability gaps, and modernization opportunities
Experience balancing near-term business continuity and operational needs with longer-term architectural direction
Experience communicating architecture recommendations, tradeoffs, technical constraints, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
