Join the ResMed Product Sustainability team. As a senior member, you’ll be part of a small but empowered group that informs, influences, and delivers on ResMed’s product environmental sustainability strategy. You’ll help drive engineering awareness, guide responsible materials selection, and be an agent for change across the entire product portfolio, moving it towards a more sustainable future.
Job Responsibility:
Shape the sustainability strategy: Define and refine ResMed’s product and packaging sustainability vision, roadmap, and targets (including emissions and waste reduction), balancing ambition with commercial realities
Drive execution and delivery: Influence early design decisions to minimise environmental impact across the product lifecycle
Measure and track impact: Apply tools such as Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), carbon footprinting, and circularity metrics to monitor progress
Ensure regulatory compliance: Navigate regulatory uncertainty and support compliance to global environmental regulations and policies
Enable informed, strategic decisions: Apply a nuanced, risk-based approach to balance sustainability priorities with organisational risk and commercial considerations
Champion stronger collaboration between departments: Build strong relationships with teams including Supply Chain, Compliance, Reporting, and Finance
Educate and empower teams: Deliver sustainability training, workshops, and awareness programs
Engage and communicate effectively: Present on sustainability challenges, insights/developments and program proposals at various forums
Requirements:
Technical experience in applying eco-design principles in product development, including responsible material selection, designing for repair/recycling, and leveraging Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to reduce product carbon footprint
Engineering or Science degree
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
At least 5 years of experience in a relevant role
Environmental/Sustainability or Materials Engineering background
Understanding of compliance requirements within the global sustainability regulatory landscape, particularly in the medical devices industry
Proven project management skills, with hands-on experience driving initiatives from planning through to execution and successful delivery of projects or products
