Job Description

Join the One Shopify Partnerships team and own the relationships with some of the largest technology companies in the world. Be at the forefront of new AI and agentic-commerce platforms reshaping how merchants reach customers. You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and GTM to turn those relationships into lasting partnerships, shipped integrations, and durable commercial outcomes for Shopify and our merchants. Uniquely in this role, you will leverage deep product knowledge of Shopify and merge it with external partner strategy, to own a relationship fully end-to end: strategy, integration, ops, business development, and on-going partner management. The partner portfolio will adapt as Shopify's priorities flex and products change. What stays constant is the standard: you own the partnership, top to bottom, and the outcome is on you.

Job Responsibility

  • Own a portfolio of strategic product partnerships end-to-end — strategy, relationship development, deal structuring and signature, integration delivery, and long-term partnership health
  • Negotiate and sign complex multi-product agreements (may vary widely from UCP/agentic commerce, Catalog, Checkout, Payments, Advertising) as principal point of contact with partner leadership and execs
  • Develop a forward-looking POV on each partnership — where it should be in 12–24 months, what it unlocks for merchants, and what trade-offs are worth making
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Support — be the connective tissue that keeps work moving
  • Run the partnership operating cadence: exec syncs, partnership reviews, escalations, partner CRM hygiene, briefs, and follow-ups
  • Spot white space — new deal types, new partners, new integration surfaces — and build the internal coalition to pursue it before it's obvious
  • Be the Shopify product expert with partners and the partner expert inside Shopify — earning trust on both sides of the table

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Shopify's product
  • Built and grown complex product partnerships end-to-end
  • Strong relationship instincts
  • Strong dealmaking experience
  • Product depth, not product gloss
  • Working knowledge of AI, agentic commerce, and ads
  • Keep work moving across teams without it becoming committee work
  • Comfortable at the executive level with a partner and in the technical weeds with their engineers
  • Executive-grade written and verbal communication
  • Calm in escalations, comfortable in ambiguity
  • Bias toward action, write things down, close loops
  • Bonus: You've signed a multi-year, multi-product partnership with a top-10 tech company
  • Bonus: Background spans both BD/partnerships and a product/eng-adjacent role (PM, solutions architect, founder)
  • Bonus: Startup or 0→1 experience where the only metric was did you ship and close

Nice to have

  • You've signed a multi-year, multi-product partnership with a top-10 tech company
  • Background spans both BD/partnerships and a product/eng-adjacent role (PM, solutions architect, founder)
  • Startup or 0→1 experience where the only metric was did you ship and close
