Shape the future of cloud and AI. Empower the world. Microsoft’s hyperscale infrastructure powers productivity for millions worldwide. The M365 Core Platform Fleet & Capacity PM team is the strategic force behind this scale, owning end-to-end capacity planning, datacenter and fleet strategy, systems architecture, SKU definition, supply–demand balancing, capacity delivery, and fleet health. As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll lead initiatives that transform Microsoft’s infrastructure into a platform for the next era of AI-driven services. This role demands clarity, influence, and execution excellence at a global scale—spanning the full lifecycle from long-range demand forecasting and investment planning through live capacity delivery and optimization.
Job Responsibility:
Own roadmap and execution: Define capabilities for hyperscale fleet and capacity platforms and design with AI at the core. Lead scenario walkthroughs, capacity reviews, and golden configuration decisions to ensure precision, resilience, and scalability
Own capacity planning: Lead long-range and near-term capacity planning across compute, storage, and network. Translate demand signals into investment strategies, supply plans, and executable roadmaps that balance growth, cost, and risk
Drive clarity and alignment: Influence senior stakeholders to turn ambiguous fleet and capacity challenges into actionable strategies. Define success criteria, manage tradeoffs, and secure sustained investment for initiatives that matter
Bridge planning to live: Partner across engineering, supply chain, finance, and operations to ensure plans translate into on-time capacity delivery. Anticipate constraints, drive mitigation strategies, and adapt plans as demand and supply evolve
Champion customer advocacy: Build rollout and support plans that amplify adoption and strengthen trust. Integrate customer and workload feedback into capacity and fleet decisions for continuous improvement
Optimize performance: Use data and AI-driven insights to forecast demand, identify bottlenecks, optimize utilization, and manage lifecycle decisions (e.g., expansion, rebalancing, or deprecation). Predict risks and mitigate them proactively
Raise the bar: Thrive in high-scale environments by bringing clarity, energy, and operational excellence to every initiative. Drive measurable impact for customers and the business while elevating team fundamentals—crisp communication, stakeholder engagement, and data-informed decisions
Lead as an AI-forward PM: Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate analysis, forecasting, documentation, and decision-making. Experiment with AI-driven approaches to capacity planning and fleet optimization, quantify impact on velocity and quality, and share learnings to raise the bar across the team
