Job Description

Apex is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Client Platforms and Configuration product suite within Ascend. This is a strategic role at the heart of Ascend's growth: you will own the configuration layer that underpins every product team's ability to deliver firm-specific, market-specific, and jurisdiction-specific capabilities to our clients.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and own the Client Platforms and Configuration vision and multi-quarter roadmap within Ascend
  • Lead the strategic initiative to design and deliver a firm-level configuration layer that supports international expansion, multi-jurisdiction requirements, and increasingly complex client structures
  • Prioritize initiatives using data-driven insights, client feedback, and cross-team dependencies to maximize platform scalability and onboarding efficiency
  • Build business cases with clear outcomes, investment, and ROI
  • Serve as the central product partner for domain product teams
  • Establish standards, patterns, and self-service capabilities for configuration
  • Define and maintain the configuration data model
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment on configuration schema, validation rules, and dependency management
  • Define RESTful APIs and event models for client configuration, provisioning, entitlements, and firm management
  • Partner with engineering on data integrity, observability, and resiliency
  • Establish SLOs for configuration propagation latency, accuracy, and availability
  • Own and continuously improve the client onboarding experience
  • Define and monitor KPIs such as onboarding cycle time, configuration error rate, provisioning success rate, time-to-propagation, and self-service adoption
  • Lead continuous improvement through automation, validation tooling, and root-cause analysis
  • Run effective ceremonies, backlog grooming, and release planning across one or more squads
  • Coordinate with Operations, Client Success, Engineering, and product domain teams
  • Communicate status, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders and key clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years building or operating platform configuration systems, client provisioning tools, multi-tenant SaaS platforms, or enterprise administration and setup products in fintech, brokerage/custody, or wealth management
  • Demonstrated success shipping API-first, event-driven, or microservices-based products at scale

Nice to have

  • Experience with configuration governance frameworks
  • multi-tenant access control models
  • internationalization/localization patterns

What we offer

  • Market-leading salary with an annual bonus
  • 28 days of annual leave plus 10 Northern Ireland national holidays
  • Training and development budget
  • Pension matched up to 7%
  • Private health insurance for medical, dental, and optical care
  • Life insurance
  • Flexible working hours
  • Parental leave
  • Modern city center office
  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Monthly catered lunches
  • Unlimited drinks and snacks
  • Hackathon events
  • Poker tournaments
  • Charitable matching gift program

  • Senior product management experience in a commercial B2B environment
  • Direct exposure to pricing, packaging, monetisation, growth, go-to-market, or other commercial product decisions
  • Commercial instinct you treat as your own problem, not someone else's
  • A strong product toolbox: discovery, strategy, clear writing, close work with design and engineering, the right measures of success, strong launches, and learning from the market

Job Responsibility
Job Responsibility
  • Define and drive the multi-year roadmap for Workflows and Actions, covering both cloud-delivered SaaS and on-premises deployments
  • Lead product definition for the agentic layer of PagerDuty's automation platform — the Skills, Tools, and Connectors that enable AI agents to act autonomously in production environments
  • Define the model for how autonomous SRE agents interact with automation primitives: invoking runbooks, triggering Actions, calling external APIs via Connectors, and escalating when confidence is low
  • Work closely with engineering to define the trust, safety, and audit boundaries required before automation can act on behalf of an agent rather than a human
  • Partner with AI/ML teams and external model providers to ensure PagerDuty's agentic experience is differentiated by domain — leveraging deep SRE context rather than generic automation
  • Own the customer-facing surface of agentic authorization — ensuring permissions, audit logs, and scoping controls are a natural and frictionless extension of current enterprise permissioning models
  • Identify and close gaps in the current platform by synthesizing customer feedback, usage data, competitive signals, and engineering constraints into a coherent strategy
