Job Description:

Visual Studio Copilot is redefining how millions of developers build, understand, and evolve software inside the world’s most powerful IDE. As a Product Manager on the Visual Studio Copilot team, you will shape intelligent, AI‑powered developer experiences that are deeply integrated into Visual Studio - bringing together chat, code completions, integrated IDE actions, and agentic capabilities into a cohesive, trusted copilot. This role sits at the intersection of developer productivity, AI platform capabilities, and large‑scale IDE ecosystems. You will work across multiple Visual Studio and Copilot teams to drive a unified product vision that helps developers move faster while maintaining quality, control, and trust.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for key Visual Studio Copilot experiences, balancing nearterm execution with longterm platform vision
  • Define and evolve end-to-end developer workflows across chat, inline assistance, completions, and IDE entry points to ensure Copilot feels cohesive, predictable, and valuable
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, research, and data science to ship high quality, scalable AI powered features inside Visual Studio
  • Translate developer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and success metrics, grounded in real customer pain points and usage signals
  • Drive cross team alignment across Visual Studio, Copilot, and adjacent AI platform teams to reduce fragmentation and deliver a unified experience
  • Understand the competitive landscape (e.g., AInative IDEs and assistants) and help define strategies that differentiate Visual Studio Copilot on trust, depth, and enterprise readiness
  • Use data and experimentation to evaluate feature impact, iterate quickly, and guide investment decisions
  • Engage with customers and partners through feedback sessions, previews, and internal field readiness to ensure Copilot meets realworld developer needs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience building apps, using developer tools and processes
  • Previous experience working in or with AI/LLM
  • Previous experience working on developer tools and/or frameworks
  • Previous experience working as a software engineer
