Adding new insurance products is an important lever to expand our total addressable market (TAM), drive growth in both our Direct-to-Consumer and Partnerships (third-party agent) business, and ultimately further our mission to protect the next million families.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead market research to understand which insurance shopper segments are unserved or underserved by our current insurance product suite, and work backwards from consumer needs to determine best-fit insurance products
  • On the Partnerships side of our business, you will help us understand how independent insurance agents choose which insurance products they offer their customers
  • Collaborate with our Risk and Actuarial team to partner with the right insurance carriers, and with our platform and UX teams to seamlessly integrate new insurance products into our digital consumer experience
  • While you will relentlessly focus on consumer outcomes, you will also drive decisions in a way that improves our unit economics
  • Building the business case for, and integrating new insurance and insurance-adjacent products into our Direct-to-consumer digital shopping experience
  • Optimizing the consumer experience for existing insurance products (e.g. pricing, and consumer-product matching logic)
  • Understanding insurance agents’ needs, and adding new insurance products to our platform that will be distributed via our partnerships (agent) network
  • Collaborating with our marketing team to ensure that go-to-market strategies are aligned with existing and new products
  • Partnering with other product managers to think through the entire customer journey
  • Playing an active role in recruiting the next set of amazing product leaders at the company
  • Creating a clear and compelling medium and long-term vision for a specific Ethos product area
  • Launching new products in collaboration with 3rd party partners
  • Optimizing our portfolio of life insurance experiences focused on accessibility, simplicity, and driving business results
  • Collaborating with our cross functional team members to ensure alignment

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing consumer and market needs, and launching products with clear, demonstrated results
  • A strong analytical orientation -- an ability to derive insights from qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions and measure the success of initiatives
  • A demonstrated ability to lead through influence, and work cross-functionally across teams to ship products that delight customers and deliver on company goals
  • A sense of urgency and the ability to achieve impact in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong track record of growing products or businesses you’ve worked on, both in terms of usage as well as user affinity
  • A solid design and technical understanding such that you can engage with your counterparts in a productive manner
  • A STEM undergraduate and/or master’s degree (preferred, but not required)
  • Prior experience in Insurance (preferred, but not required)
