Carex is partnering with a fast-growing healthtech partner to hire a Senior Product Manager, Inpatient for a hybrid role based in DC Metro. This role will own a next-generation Smart Room platform for the inpatient setting, helping define, deliver, and scale clinical and patient workflows across the inpatient experience. This is an opportunity to shape a platform at the intersection of healthcare, software, AI, hardware, and clinical workflow. The Senior Product Manager will define product direction, make key platform and vendor decisions, and be accountable for customer value, adoption, and commercial outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong product judgment, and is energized by building innovative solutions that improve care team efficiency, patient experience, and healthcare delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Own key capabilities within the Smart Room platform strategy and roadmap
  • Define product direction across software, AI capabilities, hardware, and technology partnerships
  • Lead platform scope decisions, vendor selection, and build-versus-buy tradeoffs
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and AI teams to translate strategy into shipped outcomes
  • Engage in user research and customer conversations to deeply understand inpatient nursing workflows, patient experience, virtual care needs, competitive dynamics, and customer priorities
  • Develop a clear, defensible roadmap aligned to business strategy and long-term differentiation
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and executive leadership on product positioning, go-to-market inputs, investment priorities, and value realization
  • Own product outcomes tied to adoption, customer value, revenue targets, pricing inputs, and commercial success
  • Operate with high autonomy and accountability in a fast-moving, evolving market
  • Build trust with stakeholders as the product owner for the Smart Room platform and its outcomes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience with increasing scope and ownership
  • Strong preference for experience with inpatient nursing workflows, patient engagement, virtual care platforms, or closely adjacent healthcare solutions
  • Proven success building and scaling 0-to-1 products
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with or around AI-enabled products, platforms, or hardware partnerships
  • Strong ability to operate in ambiguity, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and remain accountable for outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong product judgment with the ability to balance customer needs, business strategy, technical feasibility, and commercial impact
  • Intellectual curiosity, high standards, and a builder mindset
