As Product Manager for In-Vehicle Authentication and Authorization, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of authentication solutions that enable secure, convenient, and personalized access to GM vehicles and services. You will define and deliver an authentication method strategy that enables the user to seamlessly navigate across mobile, web and in-vehicle platforms. You will consider existing and future authentication and authorization methods keeping GM at the forefront of user access. Your work will ensure that every customer interaction with their vehicle is both secure and frictionless. You will drive alignment across Engineering, Design, Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Product teams to build authentication experiences that balance security, usability, and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Define and own the product vision and roadmap for in-vehicle authentication
Lead the development and integration of authentication methods into vehicle UI and connected platforms, ensuring seamless onboarding and sign-in experiences
Partner with Account & Identity, Security, and Setup teams to deliver secure authentication flows that meet privacy, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards
Leverage Design Thinking methodologies to collaborate with design and research, delivering intuitive authentication experiences that reduce friction and increase adoption
Establish and track KPIs such as authentication success rate, security incident rate, user adoption, and customer satisfaction
Serve as the voice of the customer and advocate for secure, seamless authentication across all GM digital touchpoints
Monitor emerging authentication trends, technologies, and threats
incorporate data, research, and market analysis to inform and prioritize the product roadmap
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
5+ years of product management experience, preferably in automotive, identity, authentication, or consumer technology
Strong understanding of authentication technologies (PIN, biometrics, digital key, trusted device, third-party sign-in) and their use across multiple platforms
Technical background with the ability to work closely with engineering on complex platform architecture, especially in identity and authentication domains
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to craft clear narratives and influence at all levels
Nice to have:
Experience with Android Automotive, embedded systems, or infotainment platforms
Familiarity with cloud-based identity architectures that span multiple devices and surfaces
Experience working with Design Thinking methodologies
