Job Description

We're not just building better tech. We're rewriting how data moves and what the world can do with it. With Confluent, data doesn't sit still. Our platform puts information in motion, streaming in near real-time so companies can react faster, build smarter, and deliver experiences as dynamic as the world around them. It takes a certain kind of person to join this team. Those who ask hard questions, give honest feedback, and show up for each other. No egos, no solo acts. Just smart, curious humans pushing toward something bigger, together. One Confluent. One Team. One Data Streaming Platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap, driving adoption and customer success
  • Lead the evolution of USM as the modern, cloud-native management and observability surface for Confluent Platform and Confluent Private Cloud
  • Drive the Control Center roadmap, balancing maintenance of the existing product with the strategic migration path toward USM
  • Own the observability story for self-managed Confluent — including metrics integration with third-party monitoring systems (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus)
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, field, and support teams to deliver capabilities that reduce operational burden for customers
  • Measure and report on product adoption, customer satisfaction, and business impact
  • Partner with GTM teams to enable field communication, customer onboarding, and competitive positioning

Requirements

  • Have deep experience with enterprise observability, monitoring, and operations tooling — familiarity with platforms like Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, or similar
  • Understand enterprise platform management — deployment lifecycle, configuration management, health monitoring, alerting, and governance
  • Demonstrate strong UX sensibility for enterprise operations interfaces (dashboards, CLIs, APIs)
  • Have experience with distributed systems and the operational challenges they present
  • Be comfortable navigating complex enterprise software ecosystems — understanding how on-prem, private cloud, and hybrid architectures differ from pure SaaS
  • Have 5–8+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time in infrastructure, platform, or observability domains
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills — at Confluent, we rely heavily on documents to explain the vision and facilitate concrete communication
  • Show ability to drive business outcomes through product decisions

What we offer

  • Remote-First Work
  • Robust Insurance Benefits
  • Flexible Time Away
  • The Best Teammates
  • Experience Ambassadors
  • Open and Honest Culture
  • Well-Being and Growth
