Lounge by Zalando is an exclusive online shopping club for fashion and lifestyle products across Europe. We provide our members with daily, time-limited sales campaigns featuring discounts of up to 75%. Our mission is to offer the best shopping experience, and to do that, we need talented engineers to help shape the future of our platform. We are seeking an experienced and self-driven UI/UX Designer to join our design-led studio team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our Design Prime to bring our new brand identity to life across web and mobile platforms, ensuring the scalability and coherence of all new feature developments. Working cross-functionally, you will actively contribute to our design systems, define scalable patterns using tokens, and uphold accessibility (a11y) standards to create inclusive user experiences. If you possess outstanding visual design and prototyping skills, strong organizational abilities, and a collaborative mindset, you will thrive in this environment. *This role is a maternity cover with 12 month temporary contract.

Job Responsibility:

Creating assets and detailed design specifications for developers
Conducting design QA to uphold quality standards
Consolidating design patterns into documentation and integrating them into our design system portal
Refining our overall design direction while staying aligned with the latest industry standards.

Requirements:

Have a degree in Digital Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a designer, with a strong track record of delivering robust and scalable customer experiences in collaboration with stakeholders, engineers, and other designers
Highly motivated and self-organized, with the ability to manage priorities effectively
Fluent in design software like Figma
experience working with vibe coding tools and google AI tools like Gemini
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
Proficiency in Google suite, docs, slides, sheets
Passionate about UI design and all things visual, with a sharp eye for the finer details
Deep expertise in building and working with design systems powered by tokens, ensuring consistency and scalability
Well-versed in accessibility (a11y) standards to create inclusive and human-centered designs
Skilled in user research, UX, and UI design to craft seamless and holistic customer journeys
Enthusiastic about designing innovative technology products with a human-centered approach, ensuring they serve real-world needs
Understanding the importance of details, teamwork, and feedback to drive impactful results.
