You'll be a core contributor on a tight design team, embedded in squads working on the overall experience for our consumers and professionals, from the point of initial contact through to a hire. This is a strategically critical part of the product and includes the comms tools as well as the overall on-and-off platform experience through this phase of the process. Consumers need help navigating challenges of hiring the right professional, whilst we need to minimise the effort of closing deals for our time poor professionals. You'll own design problems end-to-end, from early problem framing through to shipped, measured output. This work will impact both the web and app experiences. You’ll work closely with an amazing PM and EM, together defining and delivering a great experience resulting in a satisfying hire for both sides. This isn't a role for someone who needs a lot of hand-holding, or who delivers great mobile work but lets the desktop design slip. We want someone who holds themselves to a high standard across the board and gets there quickly. For the right candidate, this is a great opportunity to shape the future strategy and product vision of a key part of the Bark product.
Job Responsibility
Own design for your squad's workstream from discovery through delivery, across web and mobile
Frame problems clearly before jumping to solutions and bring structure and rationale to design decisions
Generate multiple concepts at pace, take feedback well, and iterate without backtracking
Work with product managers, engineers and researchers to identify the right problems and validate your thinking
Contribute to Bark's design system and help us build something consistent and scalable
Use data, research and qualitative feedback to ground your work in evidence, not assumption
Use AI tools as a natural part of your workflow, for research synthesis, rapid concept generation and validation, design quality and delivery for engineering
Requirements
Self-directed and fast. You manage your own time, hit your commitments, and raise blockers early rather than disappearing into a problem
Comfortable with ambiguity - we have a clear direction for our transformation but there are critical questions we still need to answer
A strong senior IC with a track record of delivering real product (user and business) impact, not just polished portfolios
Comfortable with the full design process: framing, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, validation
High craft standards across both mobile and desktop
Confident with data. You use it to make decisions and to measure whether your work is working
Someone who takes feedback cleanly and moves forward, not someone who relitigates resolved decisions
Proficient in Figma
familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows is critical
