In this role you own the data product and service portfolio and manage the delivery lifecycle — from intake and triage to execution and service operations. You will be responsible for alignment with the enterprise data strategy, governance frameworks, and regulatory obligations. The role orchestrates change from across Beazley into internal and outsourced delivery teams ensuring scalable, compliant, and high-value data products underpin our change efforts, are integrated with our core applications and reused by underwriting, claims, pricing, risk, and customer functions. The role requires close collaboration with business units, data / change leadership and outsourced partners to unlock the value of data assets, drive innovation, and support decision-making through advanced analytics and AI. You will be part of a high-performing team of data change experts responsible for ensuring we deliver our strategic priorities, and scale data-driven value and outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Data Portfolio & Roadmap Governance (Portfolio Management): Own the data product and service portfolio, maintaining a single view of all data initiatives, roadmaps, release plans, and benefits realization
Coordinate with PMO, Change, and Business teams to ensure alignment of data work to business priorities
Run intake and triage: qualify demand, assess feasibility, prioritize with clear criteria (value, risk, regulatory, capacity), and convert approved requests into scoped initiatives
Define and maintain portfolio KPIs (value delivered, adoption, SLA attainment, cost-to-serve, data quality)
Develop business cases for data-related investments and support enterprise prioritisation discussions
Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation across the underwriting lifecycle including, claims, pricing, and customer engagement
Delivery Execution & Alignment (Service Delivery): Lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, architecture, data governance, security, and business product owners
ensure traceability to strategy, standards, and control frameworks
Champion delivery framework (Scrum/Kanban) with robust delivery hygiene: backlog health, DoR/DoD, release management, dependency management, and change control
Own budget tracking for the portfolio and outsourced services
manage forecasts, variances, and business cases
Define value hypotheses and track benefits (e.g., loss ratio improvement, faster FNOL analytics, fraud detection uplift, operational efficiency gains)
Service Management & Operations: Establish and manage run and grow services for data platforms/products: SLAs/OLAs, incident/problem/change management, and operational runbooks
Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues and ensure timely resolution
Align delivery teams with architecture standards, data governance policies, security controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II, IFRS 17)
Ensure clear RACI and handoffs across build/run between internal and partner teams

Data Frameworks & Compliance: Establish and enforce change, data management and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR, Solvency II, and IFRS 17
Implement policies for data management, stewardship and lifecycle management across the organization
Stakeholder Engagement & Ways of Working: Run a consistent engagement model with change teams and business lines (underwriting, claims, pricing, finance, risk) to prioritize demand and measure outcomes
Maintain transparent status reporting, steering committee packs, release notes, and playbooks
promote data literacy and adoption
Lead and coach a matrixed team of product owners, delivery leads, business analysts, and engineers (including partner teams).to ensure seamless delivery of data initiatives
Evolve delivery tooling and practices (Jira/ServiceNow, test automation, observability) and continuous improvement cadences

Requirements:
Ability to define and drive organisational data strategy aligned with business objectives
Strong understanding of insurance data domains, governance, architecture, analytics, and data platforms to effectively integrate them into strategic planning
Significant experience running multi-team portfolios and outsourced/managed services
Proven experience managing outsourced delivery partners or third-party vendors in large-scale data programs
Strong in Agile/Scaled Agile, portfolio management, service management (ITIL), DataOps/MLOps, and benefits realization
Detailed knowledge of business and technology issues / opportunities related to insurance, data and AI
Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field

Demonstrable experience of leading data delivery/product management within insurance or financial services
Strong negotiation skills and ability to enforce SLAs and KPIs
Experience applying AI & automation to enhance and support data strategy and delivery
An expert in Change management practices including waterfall, continuous improvement and Agile ways of working
Familiar with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), lakehouse/data warehousing (Databricks, Snowflake), orchestration (Airflow, ADF), transformation (dbt), streaming (Kafka), BI (Power BI), data governance, quality, and observability/monitoring
