Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer to support the deployment and implementation of process safety, loss prevention, and risk engineering programs across a wide portfolio of onshore and offshore assets. The successful candidate will provide expert advisory services, lead major safety studies, and ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards. This role plays a critical part in driving excellence in process safety across operating assets, brownfield modifications, and large capital projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Implement asset-based process safety, loss prevention, and risk management programs in assigned operating assets
  • Review engineering documentation, studies, and project deliverables to confirm compliance with relevant safety standards and procedures
  • Support the execution and sustainability of the company’s Manage Operations Risk (MOR) and Ensure Process Safety processes
  • Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and other formal hazard studies, ensuring production of high-quality reports
  • Lead or coordinate major safety studies including Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and other technical risk evaluations
  • Engage external consultants to ensure delivery of high-quality technical safety documents
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Safety Cases for assigned assets
  • Lead barrier management activities to ensure effective identification, verification, and monitoring of critical safety barriers
  • Conduct technical reviews of Management of Change (MOC) requests, ensuring field integrity and operational safety
  • Monitor process safety performance indicators, analyze trends, and recommend improvements in collaboration with Operations and other departments
  • Represent Process Safety & Risk Engineering during project reviews including 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, SIL assessments, and QRA-related activities
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Integrity & Reliability, Major Projects, and external stakeholders including shareholders, industrial city authorities, contractors, and consultants

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Safety, or related discipline preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil & gas industry focusing on process safety, risk management, loss prevention, or technical safety
  • Strong background in hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies (HAZOP, What-If, SIL, QRA)
  • Practical knowledge of safe systems of work and emergency preparedness

Nice to have

Exposure to EPC, commissioning, and start-up phases of oil & gas projects is an advantage
