We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to assist in a wide variety of duties associated with systems engineering, mechanical component testing, and mechanical design including mechanical development for rapid production.
Job Responsibility
Design mechanical components, including structure parts and assemblies
Design mechanical components, including aero and structural analysis, loads, bolted interfaces, thermal (radiation), and/or fluids
Design mechanical components, including package existing WR hardware in the next level of assembly
Test a mechanical component and evaluate against design requirements
Write component requirements for system level designs
Brief mechanical aspects of the design
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
Active DOE Q level security clearance or equivalent with ability to obtain and maintain additional clearances as needed
Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement
Experience with mechanical engineering and product realization in the NNSA complex
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Experience in one or more of the following areas: CAD modeling, GD&T, and/or design for manufacturing basics
ANSYS or Solidworks modeling tools (particularly FEA analysis)
MATLAB or similar engineering-based simulation or programming tools
Test planning, documentation, execution, data collection, and reporting
Environmental testing including flight body qualification, shock and vibration, and combined environments
Modular systems and frameworks
Additive Manufacturing, qualification, and testing
JTA experience
System level understanding of RV/RB and air delivered nuclear deterrent systems
Experience within the ND Advanced and Exploratory (A&E) mission area
Experience developing and delivering fieldable and/or flight-quality hardware
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and sometimes vague requirements
Demonstrated experience as a successful and effective project leader
Demonstrated commitment to developing yourself and your skills
Ability and willingness to travel at least once per quarter as needed (domestically and, occasionally, internationally)
Active SCI clearance
