Atlassian is hiring for the role of Senior Principal Program Manager to work with the Head of Team Anywhere to drive the distributed transformation initiative, establish multi-year strategies, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. This role requires extensive leadership, program management experience, and expertise in Agile methodology. The candidate will act as chief of staff, manage key projects, and oversee operations, while engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as chief of staff for head of Team Anywhere to manage the distributed transformation initiative across all areas and people to re-imagine how the company works now and in the future, including behaviors, culture, rituals, practices, and tooling
  • work with head of Team Anywhere to establish and drive the vision and formulate a multi-year business strategy for the company while tactically delivering incremental team and value on a quarterly basis
  • balance team focus between short-term benefits and long-term outcomes, as well as between customer benefit and business strategy
  • create clarity and drive execution in managing key projects and unblocking the highest-priority work
  • own multiple streams of work, working collaboratively while identifying and leading company-wide dependencies
  • lead and provide clear direction to the teams on strategic planning for Team Anywhere that builds strong partnerships across the organization
  • facilitate the required cross-functional collaboration to ensure that the company can complete genuine transformation
  • bring in the right people at the right time for decisions, escalations, and aspects of delivery to keep the stakeholders aligned and working together
  • lead through influencing while working with a diverse range of teams wall-to-wall across Atlassian
  • build trust-based relationships in order to understand root issues and surface potential solutions
  • work at all levels of the organization, including team, program, and executive level
  • represent at executive level when needed
  • run the operations of the Team Anywhere business, including leadership rituals, finance, talent, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (will accept 3 or 4-year degree)
  • 12 years of professional experience in project and program management
  • experience working with a variety of program scopes
  • developing a strategy informed by research
  • crafting the implementation and change plan
  • experience with Agile methodology
  • experience working at various levels of an organization from mentoring young talent to presenting to C-level stakeholders
  • experience utilizing effective methods for presenting complex business and technical plans to a senior leadership audience.
