The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer is considered a specialist in the field of Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab), and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Fabrication Function. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Hook Up Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Hook Up challenges. Ensure project execution and delivery aligned with project schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute effective strategies for hook-up to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget
Coordinate with project stakeholders
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team and ensure compliance with industry standards
Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor the progress and quality of hook-up activities
Identify any potential issues or bottlenecks and propose timely solutions
Ensure hook-up team participation to project engineering and construction surveys
Define the Shutdown and turnaround activities strategy for project
Validate shutdown requirements and critical interfaces
Conduct constructability reviews
Act as the single point of contact and decision-making authority on project
Review and confirm budget handed over by bidding team post award
Develop client relationship
Review critical engineering deliverables
Conduct HAZID and SIMOPS workshops on project
Ensure that business risks are identified and managed
Ensure that HDMS database is prepared
Ensure that offshore mobilization readiness reviews are conducted
Ensure that critical subcontractors and vendors requirement is pre-defined
Management of change (MOC) process is understood and is implemented
Manage and supervise day to day activities in offshore
Make offshore visits
Participate in project close out process including recording lessons learned
Conduct project reviews and endorsing readiness from hook up brownfield perspective
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field)
Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in the EPCI industry, with a focus on hook-up and commissioning
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex hook-up and commissioning projects, preferably with offshore facilities
In-depth knowledge and understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to hook-up and commissioning
Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools for planning, execution, and documentation of hook-up and commissioning activities
Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Nice to have:
Master's degree is preferred or equivalent industry experience
